Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. Colossians 3:2 ☁️

Lord, thank You from the bottom of my heart. After so long, I am finally able to continue what You started. I knew that I was running away from Your call to ministry. And now. Here I am at the start. As Martin Luther would say:
As Luther stand in opposition off the corrupted Church, I am inspired at Your work Lord in his life. Luther sought a life to glorify You even if it meant foregoing his comfortable life in the Church. Please help, this #1 strength post may encourage my other brothers and sisters out there. To know that apart from You we will scatter. Yet those who gather and follow You and Your Word will have true strength.
Today, reading Colossians 3 reminded me. How are we living our lives? Are we focusing too much on daily life? As we are created a new, and raised with Christ. Do our lives reflect a new Christian life described in Colossians?
Know that we are not the same as before! As Paul starts with:
"If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God." Colossians 3:1 ☝️
We are created new. Yes our bodies are still the same, but our spiritual being is restored and justified by Faith in Christ. What a great message of redemption! This is important. Because we are able to change through Christ alone.
Being a Christian means to deny ourselves. As Paul's rebuke off the things below:
Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Colossians 3:5 ☠️
Knowing what not to do is the first step. Then how do continue that process? Paul re-focuses our minds on the things that are above:
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:12-17😇
Thank You for the strength gained through Jesus and His Word.
This is all quite a daunting and difficult task. Please help us Jesus. With our own broken sinful flesh it is nigh impossible. We are weak, we will always choose the sinful and easy way off the things below.
And yet I can do all things through (Him) Christ who strengthens me. Lord, as we focus and try to reform our life. We will fall. Heck I fall so much it's sad. Sometimes I wonder why I even try. But help me O Lord, to rise back up again. To stand tall one feet at a time. To love once more. To follow Christ despite it all.
Why? Because off Your grace. We are restored and made a new. You are my Lord who never forsakes His covenant promise. In that hope do I praise You. In my response and by faith will I continually seek on the things above... Thank You Jesus for showing me a life outside off myself. He must increase but I must decrease... In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
